Choose the task and finish the next step
Use regional encounter levels as a planning aid alongside climate, transport and equipment. The official 1.0 release changed habitats and progression, so older regional maps can lead a returning player into a different risk profile.
Work from a reproducible starting point
- Check the prerequisite, selected game revision and the current state of the save.
- Use the actual linked Pals, item recipes and map/tool entries for the next step.
- Verify the intended outcome, then record the inputs so another player can repeat the task.
Evidence boundary
The factual tables preserve the stated source snapshot. Source-specific recommendations and mechanics have not been independently reproduced in the current game. Exact gameplay rule gaps remain in the coverage notes rather than being filled with invented quantities.
Use regional levels to choose the next trip
This is a player-exploration route, not a formula for leveling one particular Pal. Encounter levels overlap, and equipment, skills, capture supplies and climate protection can matter more than the character-level number. For a level 30 character, compare Verdant Brook, Frostbound Mountains and desert approaches, then choose the branch your current gear can support.
Nine planning bands, with an explicit overlap
The table restates the captured source guide. Its 66–69 editorial handoff does not erase the main-world overlay’s 66–72 asset range; both facts are retained. Entering the World Tree at 70 is a progression recommendation, not proof that level 70+ encounters exist nowhere else.
| Player range | Region | Suggested trip |
|---|---|---|
| 1–15 | Main world | Starter islands and Windswept Hills |
| 16–25 | Main world | Bamboo Groves, Moonless Shore and central islands |
| 26–35 | Main world | Verdant Brook, Frostbound Mountains and desert approaches |
| 36–45 | Main world | Mount Obsidian, Desiccated Desert and snowy approaches |
| 46–55 | Main world | Sakurajima, Astral Mountains and later Mount Obsidian |
| 56–65 | Main world | Feybreak, Sunreach approaches and late offshore regions |
| 66–69 editorial range | Main world; overlay actually 66–72 | Sky Islands, Sunreach and high-level pockets |
| 70–75 | World Tree | First recommended Tree exploration band |
| 76–80 | World Tree | Final recommended open-world band |
Read the field and inspect a real spawn
The reference describes its overlays as blended wild-spawn samples clipped to land. That is its published methodology; this guide has not recovered or independently validated the interpolation and clipping algorithm. The local map exposes acquired band assets and individual spawn/encounter records. Use both: color suggests a route, while a selected record gives the actual reported species and level range.
Pass the travel checks before moving up
- Bring both climate answers if the route crosses height, time or biome boundaries.
- Use a mount or movement option with enough stamina and an independent way home.
- Carry spheres, ammunition, food and recovery items that your base can replace.
- Open a travel point or a short return loop before extending the expedition.
- If ordinary encounters consume the whole supply budget, improve equipment or the team before interpreting the next colored band as mandatory.
Route by the goal, not by a timer
At 74 or 75, the 70–75 Tree band is still the recommended field; prepare for the next band at 76. For a base worker, target its acquisition or breeding route instead of roaming an entire region. For a material, follow its source record and plan the return load. The pinned encounter data is v1.0.3 and official 1.0.4 later adjusts some field spawns, so current native spawn geometry remains a separate verification task.
