Use the multiplier to match your schedule
These are optional pacing presets, not official difficulty modes. A lower experience rate can leave more time to explore each equipment tier, but it also slows replacement Pals. It cannot undo levels already earned.
| World goal | Suggested starting ExpRate | Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|
| Thorough collection | 0.3 | Longer regional progression; objective-only play may lag |
| Broad co-op campaign | 0.5 | More room for production between unlocks |
| Replay or short main-path run | 1.0 | Fast unlocks can outrun materials |
Test one variable for a complete session
- Keep capture, enemy-drop and resource settings unchanged while testing XP.
- Check whether armor, weapons, spheres and base production match the current technology tier.
- Fight a representative dungeon or boss; do not tune from one lucky chest.
- Reduce XP if levels consistently outrun equipment. Raise it if the group clears suitable content but cannot reach its next necessary unlock. Agree as a group before changing a shared world.
Apply a server change safely
Pocketpair documents ExpRate as the experience multiplier. Stop the dedicated server, preserve a world backup and the previous configuration, edit the active PalWorldSettings.ini, restart, and confirm the effective setting. DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini is a template rather than the running world configuration. Keep a dated record so the change can be reversed.
