Protect Pals before using Auto-Assign
Open the expedition roster and choose Expedition Exclusion Settings beneath the available-Pal controls. Mark the Pals you need to keep, leave exclusion mode, then run Auto-Assign and inspect the generated roster before dispatching.
A practical protected list
- Your everyday mount and emergency transport partner.
- Fishing specialists and any active raid reserves.
- Captured merchants needed for shopping or selling.
- Purpose-built workers whose absence would stop power, food or an expensive queue.
- Rare breeding parents and any team you are currently testing.
Check the behavior rather than treating the flag as a lock
The reference demonstrates an exclusion from automatic team selection, not a general prohibition on manual assignment, sale or disassembly. Recheck the roster after a new capture, team change or server migration. If a protected Pal appears anyway, record the exact game version and whether selection was automatic or manual.
