Levels 20–30: activate what you already own
Check whether a relied-on partner effect requires crafted Pal Gear; merely carrying the species is not proof the effect is active. Complete five catches for each new species you encounter, using the official 1.0 capture-bonus requirement. Invest early rank gains in a permanent mount or production bottleneck rather than waiting for a perfect endgame replacement.
Levels 30–40: separate conflicting work
Give crafting and food/breeding lines enough dedicated labor and nearby storage. A versatile worker needs explicit permissions or assignment when its alternate job steals time. Pal Surgery Table at the fixed-baseline level 38 changes how worker passives can be installed; a perfect four-passive breeding roll need not be the first priority.
Levels 40–50: buy the useful power spike
Spend Pal Souls on the stat that keeps the mount or fighter useful. The acquired Soul path has twenty ranks at 3% each, reaching 60% for the selected stat; Small covers 1–4, Medium 5–7, Large 8–10 and Giant 11–20. Check unlocked shrines, side activities and the Terraria route for fixed rewards while traveling rather than farming a random drop by habit.
A practical order of operations
- Fix missing gear and assignments before replacing the whole roster.
- Use the current capture bonus and condenser preview to turn spare catches into useful ranks.
- Apply relevant handbooks to a worker that will remain in service; the official 1.0 suitability ceiling is 10.
- Calculate the next craft’s materials, then choose Ranch, mining, purchase or combat sources.
- Train a reserve team gradually instead of discovering an unprepared raid army at endgame.
Keep changed numbers in their proper source
The official release describes condensation changing from 116 to 48 Pals, but does not publish every rank’s fodder map or clarify every keeper-count interpretation. Do not derive “47 fodder” from that announcement alone.
