Start with a playable product
Bushiroad’s official pages list two Dawn of Palpagos trial decks: Red/Blue and Green/Purple. Each supplies 50 main cards,10 Soul cards, guide/playmat/counters and a BP01 booster. BP01 launched July 30,2026 and its current product page lists 100 base card types plus 61 parallel types. Booster packs expand a deck; they are not a guaranteed ready-to-play list.
Build a legal first list
The official construction announcement permits up to two of Red, Blue, Green and Purple, plus Colorless cards, in a 50-card main deck and a 10-card Soul deck. The default is at most four copies of the same full printed card name, including subtitle. Individual card text can override a general rule—Beegarde BP061 is an example—so check the actual card rather than relying on a blanket four-copy validator.
The five-phase rhythm
| Phase | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Stand | Ready eligible cards for the turn |
| Draw | Draw under the rulebook; first player skips the first-turn draw |
| Soul | Add Souls as instructed, two until the ten-Soul limit |
| Main | Deploy and use Pals, work, gear/events and battles under their costs/restrictions |
| End | Resolve end-of-turn effects and pass the turn |
Win conditions and a first practice match
The primary rules begin players at 10 life and limit a base to five Pals. A player loses at life 0 or an empty main deck, subject to card effects; simultaneous losses draw. There is no general maximum-life cap. Start with an intact trial list, follow a full turn with the playmat, then change a few cards and test the same plan. Red/Blue is marketed for pressure; Green/Purple for planning, not a guaranteed matchup advantage.
Use the current rule desk
The official July 30 comprehensive rules, quick manual, Q&A and errata govern play. Misprinted text can remain legal with corrected function. Check language/tournament rules and current products separately from this starting guide; a July product overview is not a live stock report.
