Capture safety and equipment slots

Mercy-style protection is not a blanket shield against burn, poison or unrelated Pal attacks. Control all damage sources. The reference describes Pal Tamer’s Glasses as both talent inspection and nonlethal support; inspect its current effects rather than confusing it with basic Ability Glasses. Reusable lockpicks are tools, so plan for their unlock rather than consuming a key on every compatible chest.

Preserve upgrades when moving to a better Pal

A condensed donor can contain accumulated rank value; preview the receiver before confirming because the donor is consumed. Ripe Starfruit is reported as a one-rank alternative, making its value depend on the copies that rank would otherwise cost. Permanent Work Suitability handbooks should go to the worker that owns a sustained bottleneck, not to every secondary job.

Split resources and protect assignments

  • The reference soul conversion is Giant → two Large → four Medium → eight Small. Check the live recipe before decomposing a scarce higher tier.
  • Use Expedition Exclusion Settings to protect mounts, breeders, merchants and raid reserves from Auto-Assign.
  • Awakening is a separate endgame investment; choose the permanent Pal before spending element-specific materials.
  • A high-pressure extractor’s freedom of placement is not proof it always runs faster. Official 1.0.3 increased both extractor speeds, so a launch-era speed comparison is obsolete.

Verify each shortcut in a small transaction

Preview the exact item name, donor, receiver and result. Confirm an accessory after swapping Pals, one converted soul batch and one protected Auto-Assign roster before scaling. These checks prevent a familiar name from hiding a changed 1.0 rule.

Transfer rank value while keeping the intended individual

Select the Pal you intend to keep as the target. Add same-species material Pals, including a condensed or partly filled donor, and inspect the projected rank and progress. The resource picker excludes favorites and expedition assignments; the server also rejects imported material.

The donor’s saved rank and partial progress enter the conversion. Donors are consumed. The server changes rank and saved progress on the same keeper; its own nickname, potential, passives, active skills, level, Alpha/Lucky identity and Soul investment remain with that individual.

  • Favorite and identify the keeper before opening the material picker. Remove protection only from a donor you actually intend to consume.
  • Add the large donor first, then check the projected rank, partner rank and work-suitability preview before adding loose copies.
  • Cancel if the target, materials or preview are wrong. False confirmation returns before the change request.

An awakened donor can awaken the keeper

There is a specific transfer exception: an awakened donor can enable Awakening on a keeper that is not awakened. This does not copy the donor’s potential, passives or Soul investments. Check that exception before spending separate Awakening materials.
