Pocketpair’s retrieved v1.0.1 Steam announcement addresses accidental save-data discarding after certain operations and burning that persisted after campfire contact. This is a historical patch summary, not a recommendation to stop on 1.0.1 when later updates exist.
What to do with an important save
- Install the appropriate current platform build and confirm the number on the in-game title screen.
- Keep backups and test loading/exiting normally before adding other variables such as mods.
- Do not assume a prevention fix restores progress that was already lost.
Platform-specific claims need their platform note
The reference also lists repeated PlayStation save errors and a roughlythirty-second Xbox teleport freeze. Those two items are not in the retrieved Steam announcement. They remain attributed platform reports until the matching official platform notice is checked; they are not silently added to the verified Steam list.
If the symptom remains
Record platform, game version, the exact save/exit or campfire sequence and whether mods are active. A later problem with a similar symptom is not proof that this historical hotfix never existed.
