A small development loop
Use a separate save and implement one visible change. First confirm that the loader works; then confirm that your script, data edit or cooked content loads; only then test the desired game behavior. This splits a missing dependency from a bug in the mod itself.
Choose a route
- Data table or supported asset edit: inspect PalSchema and its current schemas.
- Runtime behavior: learn the relevant UE4SS Lua API, object lifetime and game-thread requirements.
- Resource or Blueprint content: use a compatible Unreal toolchain and the maintained community kit instructions.
- Distribution: use the official package specification to describe files and dependencies independently of how they were authored.
Finish the loop
Keep a short reproduction record containing game build, platform, dependencies, input, expected outcome and observed result. Run the package on a clean installation, check save and removal behavior, then publish a versioned artifact with the same metadata you tested.
Sources and verification
The official loader and maintainer documentation were retrieved on October 23, 2026. Examples are explanatory and have not been executed in Palworld by this project. The extended ID snapshot has no verified game-version label. Linked player data uses v1.0.3, while current official news includes v1.0.5.
