Separate the summon from the catch
Official 1.0.3.101283 selects a level 70 Water Panthalus encounter. The Echoing Flute recipe and the shrine’s item check form the summon route; the scripted capture phase follows the fight separately. Keep one Echoing Flute available for the shrine’s possession check.
The later official 1.0.4 progression fix cited by the dated walkthrough is separate from these fixed-baseline encounter rules. It is not an extra validation step for this route.
Build an Electric plan that fits five slots
Start with Helzephyr Lux, Gobfin, Gobfin Ignis, Tetroise Primo and Jetragon. Ride Helzephyr Lux for the damage loop and keep Jetragon as the reserve flyer. This independently adapted default uses the source’s named Helzephyr Lux alternative, whose Electric conversion explicitly applies while you ride it.
The August 18 source names five individual Pals, then asks for an additional backup flyer in separate prose. The drafts below resolve that conflict with complete five-member selections. Each link starts at partner rank 1; change the ranks to match your own Pals, then save in this browser or share the team URL without an account.
The roles below follow the pinned v1.0.3 partner records. They establish recipients and activation conditions, not a measured Panthalus clear, current-patch combat result or guarantee that a timed buff survives a swap.
- Default damage and escape loop: ride Helzephyr Lux while attacking, fly beyond the island for the large wave, then return when it clears. If Helzephyr Lux falls or cannot carry the next escape, switch to Jetragon. Resume the Electric-conversion loop only after mounting Helzephyr Lux again.
- Prixter Lux variant: Prixter Lux, Gobfin, Gobfin Ignis, Tetroise Primo and Jetragon. Replace only Helzephyr Lux. Prixter Lux is not a flying mount: deploy it and manually activate Scorpion Longwave for the recorded 30-second effect on a 50-second cooldown. In official 1.0.3.101283, recalling it aborts that active module and removes its assigned trainer conversion and Attack effect. Switching to Jetragon through that recall does not carry the converted shots into the aerial chase.
- Reserve flyer substitution: replace only Jetragon with Beakon. The five slots become Helzephyr Lux, Gobfin, Gobfin Ignis, Tetroise Primo and Beakon. Beakon supplies its own Electric conversion and 5% to 20% player Attack only while ridden; the two mounts’ bonuses are alternatives. This keeps durability support but gives up Jetragon’s missile action and mobility profile.
- Prepare the appropriate mount gear before summoning. The linked acquisition records cover each species; the team builder keeps each mounted or activated effect separate instead of adding every possible mode to one total.
| Slot | Pal | Job | Recipient and condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Helzephyr Lux | Main flying damage mount | While riding Helzephyr Lux, player attacks become Electric and player Attack rises from 5% at rank 1 to 20% at rank 5. The conversion is not supplied to another mount. |
| 2 | Gobfin | Trainer Attack support | Keep it in the party for 10% player Attack at rank 1 through 20% at rank 5. Its activated Aqua Gun is a separate action; the party bonus does not convert damage to Electric. |
| 3 | Gobfin Ignis | Second trainer Attack support | Its separate party contribution also targets the player, from 10% to 20% by rank. Activating Spirit Fire is not required for this party support and does not give Electric conversion. |
| 4 | Tetroise Primo | Equipment endurance | While in the party, reduces eligible player weapon and armor durability loss by 80% at rank 1 through 100% at rank 5. Weapon and armor scopes are separate; this does not add Attack or protect the Health bar. |
| 5 | Jetragon | Reserve flight and escape | Use its flying mount and mounted missile action when needed. Jetragon’s partner record does not convert player attacks to Electric; Helzephyr Lux’s mounted bonus is not counted while riding Jetragon. |

Fight the movement pattern
For the island-wide wave, watch the large wind-up and fly beyond the island over open water until it passes. The source describes no safe corner on the island. Resume the chase when the wave clears, rather than landing for a damage trade.
Panthalus moves away repeatedly. Follow on a flying mount, maintain an escape route and keep attacks on a clear line. The source identifies the body and crown crystal as useful hit zones: shoot the body when the crown is awkward to track, then use the crown when the angle is safe. Its claimed body critical and crown bonus have not been independently measured here.
- The named default above already uses all five slots and includes Helzephyr Lux plus Jetragon. A sixth backup flyer cannot fit into a full party. Choose the explicit Jetragon-to-Beakon replacement if that reserve mount suits your available roster.
- Keep the conversion tied to the current mode: Helzephyr Lux or Beakon supplies it while ridden; Prixter Lux needs manual activation in its separate variant. Neither the party list nor mounting Jetragon proves that a different Pal’s conversion remains active.
- Repair equipment and stock ammunition before using the flute, so the aerial chase does not turn into an emergency trip to base.
Use the scripted one-HP capture phase
Official 1.0.3.101283 keeps Panthalus at a floor of 1 HP when ordinary damage or slip damage applies during the encounter. Once its HP is exactly 1 and its current action is empty, the encounter advances into the capture phase.
That phase enables capture and forces the capture calculation to 100% once the target passes the capture-eligibility check. Land an eligible sphere hit during this phase. This encounter-specific rule does not come from the ordinary capture calculator.
Gather four named bones, then use the shrine
The official 1.0.3.101283 recipe makes one Echoing Flute from one of each Echobone in the table, with raw work amount 300. Its Echoing Flute blueprint unlock condition still applies. A Primitive Workbench accepts the actual flute item’s category and rank, so it is a compatible crafting station once that condition is met. Work amount is not a duration in seconds.
The actual placed shrine requires possession of one Echoing Flute before the interaction proceeds. This establishes the item access check without asserting flute consumption. The dated walkthrough supplies the glowing-skeleton collection route and Deserted Islet travel description; these bindings do not independently locate all four skeletons.

| Silent Echobone | WhaleWhistleFragment_02 |

Use the separate capture timer
Official 1.0.3.101283 configures Panthalus’s combat limit as 600 seconds (ten minutes), with a separate 60-second capture phase. The native capture countdown uses that separate capture value. The source’s ten-minute critical-health catch window conflicts with this baseline.
The capture countdown begins when the encounter reports its capturable-down state. Capture processing can hold that countdown, so the configured 60 seconds is not an exact wall-clock promise. Prepare a sphere before the 1 HP transition and use the scripted capture opportunity.
Keep Panthalus in the active party for the barrier
The source says the World Tree barrier checks the active party. After the catch, place Panthalus in one of the five party slots before approaching; keeping it only in storage is not the reported unlock. Leave it in the party while following the Sealed Calamity quest, Awakening-material route and path toward the level-80 encounter.
If access fails, check party placement and the mission state first. The later official 1.0.4 progression fix already cited above is separate from the v1.0.3 catalog and from this August 18 walkthrough.
